Duif Harbour Location

You will find the Duif Harbour conveniently located just a short walk to the east form Central Station. You will find all the city’s most popular attractions on your doorstep or within in easy walking distance.

The excellent Artis Zoo and Aquarium is extremely close by and certainly worth visiting, especially if you are travelling with children. It’s one of the oldest zoos in Europe with one of the most successful animal breeding programmes in the world. There is even a small petting area for children and adults to interact with the more native animals such as goats and chickens. On your visit be sure to see the incredible original 19th century aquarium which lies at the far end of the zoo grounds. This incredibly impressive building has an amazing marble lined main hall showcasing giant tanks full of all kinds of underwater creatures. There’s even an aquarium designed like an Amsterdam city canal so that you can see what kinds of creatures live in the water, along with the rusty old bicycles. Some of the fish are surprisingly big.

The apartment is located directly across the road form the wonderful Science Centre, known as NEMO. It looks just like a huge ship’s bow rising out of the water. Climb aboard and join local Amsterdammers sunbathing on the roof or ‘deck’ in the summer months. You will have the most amazing view across the city from here. The museum itself is lots of fun for visitors of all ages. It will certainly impress those with inquisitive minds since the museum has a refreshing ‘please DO touch the exhibits’ policy.
