You are going to be staying at one of Amsterdam's best areas, known as the Jordaan. This district can be found on the western edge of the city centre, right next to the ever famous canal district. It was originally built as a neighbourhood for all the workers of the city, but is now known to be one of Amsterdam's most exclusive areas to be staying in. This has a reason: just look at all the cute and beautiful buildings that can be found here. There are numerous quaint boutiques and little bars for you to enjoy. In some way one could say that this is one of nicest districts of the town, because it is right next to all important touristic attractions. You are practically next to one of the canals of the city, called Prinsengracht. On this street the Anne Frank House can be found. This museum tells the story of Anne Frank like nothing else, as this is the place where her and her family were hiding during the Second World War. Other visiting sites are also very close. On a sunny day we recommend you to walk over to the famous Dam square, from where you can continue your journey in this mazing city. An alternative for you to travel around is the public transportation. A network of buses, trams, and metros will take you anywhere you want to go in a few moments. |
