You are sure to be impressed by the sumptuous chocolate and cream interior décor and amazing contemporary furnishing inside this outstanding holiday home. The living room incorporates a lovely long sofa where you can relax with your guests and enjoy the flat screen TV. The wonderful matching coffee table and chair have a fabulous 60s inspiration whilst the sofa itself converts into a double bed for two of your guests. Meal times are perfectly catered for in the excellent fitted kitchen. Open plan and fully fitted you will find everything you could possibly need for making anything form simple snacks to full three course meals. The wonderful smoked glass coffee table is ideal for serving up those culinary creations or for using a laptop more comfortably. The apartment has two private bedrooms presented in an unfussy style to encourage restful undisturbed sleep. Both rooms have comfortable beds, one with a double and the second with two singles. You will also find excellent storage for your clothes and stylish mood lighting. Two private bathrooms are beautifully styled and feature a combination of two toilets, a bath and shower. It is important to note that smoking is strictly prohibited in the apartment and will trigger the fire alarm. A false alarm will incur a fine.

The Eastern Park Apartment Suite I is located in the east of the city centre close to the beautiful 19th centu 2 ry 1ffe Oosterpark in the popular Dapperbuurt district. The area is rich in architecture and also boasts a fabulous market, the Dappermarkt, which was once voted by National Geographic Traveller magazine as one of the ‘top ten shopping streets’ in the world. With over 200 stalls selling anything from local and international food ingredients to handicrafts, textiles and clothing you are sure to find something of interest here.

The nearby Tropenmuseum provides a fascinating insight into the history of Dutch colonialism. Meanwhile the Linnaeusstraat is certainly worth visiting if you are feeling hungry since it is packed with delicious Surinamese and Indonesian takeaways.

Most popular and just a short walk away has to be the famous Artis Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in Europe. You will find all your favourite animals here kept in modern enclosures that are considerably more humane than those seen in the past. Be sure to explore the enchanting butterfly house where the fluttering creatures will happily land on you and eat fruit from the palm of your hand if you are still and quiet enough. There is also a small animal petting area where you can interact with chickens, goats and sheep which is particularly popular with children. Amazingly, the zoo also used to be a secret home to Jewish people in hiding during the Nazi occupation years of World War II. People actually lived in the small spaces above the animal cages in secret. Find out more about this terrible period in Amsterdam’s recent history at the Anne frank House Museum at 263 Prinsengracht.

Getting to and from Central Station from the apartment is particularly easy since regular trams travel along the nearby Linnaeusstraat. It is perfectly possible and rather pleasant to walk into the centre calling in at the Waterlooplein Flea Market on the way. Alternatively you might prefer to hire bicycles for the duration of your stay.
