Lotus South Apartment Location

Your studio is located in the Plantagebuurt, on the edge of the hectic city centre. Behind the 300 year old city gate it is if the city holds its breath. You are almost right next to Hortus Botanicus which is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. In the garden and greenhouses you will find over 4000 kinds of plants from small to very large and different types of butterflies flying around freely. Not far from your location is the Rembrandt Square. This square is named after the statue of the famous painter Rembrandt in 1876. In the 17th century there was a dairy market on every Monday and it was therefore named “Botermarkt”, meaning butter market. Nowadays this square is a popular entertainment area with many bars and restaurants. At Queens Day at the 30th of April many people come together here to enjoy live music and have a good time. Amsterdam has a well organized tram system that brings you almost anywhere you want. Take a tram to Museumplein for example, where you find some of Amsterdam’s best museums like the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Or to the Anne Frank house where you can experience the Nazi terror of those days.
