Information

Believe it or not, it really exists: a nice and quiet, recently refurbished studio with lots of light, located at a picturesque small canal in downtown Amsterdam.

Apartment
This bright and cosy street-level studio is about 45 square meters (about 150 square feet). The four-meter (13 feet) high windows provide a lot of light. The studio has all the usual modern comforts like flatscreen cable TV, wireless internet, etc. There is a bedroom (two beds, joined into one if desired) on an entresol/mezzanine level. The living room couch can also be turned into a double sofa bed. The bathroom and toilet are separate. The kitchenette is fully equipped.

Area
Just 30 seconds around the corner, you’re right in the middle of a market square (the Nieuwmarkt). Surrounded by more then a dozen cafés and restaurants, anchored by de Waag, an early 17th century Weigh House, now also a bar-restaurant. Within easy walking distance (5 to 10 minutes) you’ll find the Central station, the Rembrandt house, the Waterlooplein flea market, the Jewish historical museum, Amsterdam's Chinatown and another 30 cafés and restaurants (on the Zeedijk). The main shopping street (Kalverstraat) is 10 minutes away and on the Dam square (in front of the Royal Palace) you’ll see the Bijenkorf department store. Need some air? Take the free ferry behind the Central station, cross the main river (IJ), have some “bitterballen” (you‘ll like them, whatever they are!), a beer at the IJ-Kantine café and feel as free and happy as a local.
