Location
Amsterdam has around 160 canals and the Brouwersgracht with its humpback bridges and many houseboats is the most charming of them all. The Brouwer apartment is on the sunny side of this canal, voted the most beautiful in Amsterdam by readers of Het Parool, a local daily newspaper. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Brouwersgracht or Brewers' canal had many breweries lined in its banks. Most of these have been converted into fashionable warehouse apartments, but a few are still standing like the Café Thijssen and the Café Tabac, probably the most photographed café in Amsterdam since it's set on a lovely corner.
The apartment is nearby Anne Frank's House and close to the picturesque Jordaan neighbourhood, excellent for shopping, strolling along the canals and enjoying a drink or meal in one of its many cafés, bars and restaurants. The Haarlemmerstraat around the corner is fantastic for shopping. From this street, it will only take you a few minutes to reach Dam Square or Central Station.
