The Eixample district is right in the centre of Barcelona and features some of the most visited attractions in the city, including much of Gaudi's work. The Sagrada Familia is here, with its unforgettable combination of Art Nouveau and Gothic architecture. You'll find more examples of Gaudi's unique architecture along the Passeig de Gracia, which is just a 10-minute walk away. Here, there is also a wealth of shopping opportunities, from high end designer boutiques to well known high street brands and shopping malls. You'll also find a range of restaurants, bars, cafes and smaller shops selling antiques, jewellery, art and furniture. Your building sits along the beautiful Passeig Sant Joan, which is semi-pedestrianised, and begins at the Arc de Triomf. This area is filled with beautiful architecture and is the perfect backdrop for a peaceful stroll. It's also well-served by several buses, and two metro stations are close by - the Arc de Triomf and Verdaguer, should you need to travel for meetings or indeed, just to explore the rest of the city. The Parc Guell is a few minutes away by metro or bus and features magical buildings and sculpture as well as beautiful gardens. It also provides a stunning view of the city, all the way down to the port. |
