This apartment is located in the Eixample area of Barcelona, which enjoys the best of both worlds in that it is extremely central but also quite residential and leafy. Just a stone's throw from the apartment, you'll find the famous Passeig de Gracia, lined with elegant Modernist buildings, including the Casa Batllo and La Perdera, both designed by Gaudi. The street is also lined with great restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as excellent shopping, including high-end boutiques such as Chanel and Hermes. For a less expensive shopping experience, the Avinguda Diagonal is a little further away and features L'Illa, a huge shopping mall with high-street stores like Zara, as well as a range of other shops including a supermarket, should you want to stock up for meals at home. There are several transport options close to the apartment, including metro stops at both Plaza Urquinoana and Arc de Triomf, which between them will give you access to the red and yello metro lines as well as regional trains. You can reach several of the city's major attractions this way, should you not wish to walk. These include the famous Gaudi-designed Sagrada Familia cathedral and the Park Guell, with views over the city right down to the port. |
