Paralelo Central apartment Barcelona Location
El Raval is a place where time seems to have stopped here and there; dozens of narrow cobbled streets lined with fancy boutiques, designer shops and an array of fabulous eating establishments and bars (L’Antic Magatzem, El Jabali de Ronda, Bar La Bruja, La Confiteria or La Vianda, just to mention a few closest ones) meandering through numbers of charming squares, full of clusters of commercial and residential facilities divide the area into smaller pieces. Each hides different kinds of treasures, be it museums, theatres or galleries – that you’ll have to discover for yourself. A spot worth mentioning, however, is the amazing MACBA museum devoted to modern art; you’ll find it a bit to the north and recognize it by the sight of skateboarders throwing tricks down the massive stairs of this place.
If you go east, you’ll reach the coastline and from there you’ll easily spot the original placa drassanes with its circles cast in the ground, the astonishing World Trade Center building and if you follow the Paseig Colom to the north, you’ll get to Barceloneta beach where you can enjoy some nice mojito, some tapas, visit the outstanding aqua park of Aquarium or, simply, chill out and watch the sun go down and then hit the old city located just behind.
Another fine spot to visit is the National Museum of Catalonia, reached south by crossing the El Poble-Sec (the last barrio to have a drinking fountain!). While you’re there, admiring the local art, you might also wish to take a trip to Parc de Montjuic – a vast complex of paths, green spaces, groves, shrubs, but also museums and observation points to admire the wonderful panorama of the city.
