Poble Espanyol – Party by night. By day it’s a Spanish cultural village populated with artisan shops, craftsman’s stalls, and street theater. By night the village is reinvented becoming the place to party at several small bars that offer drinks, Spanish pop music, and outside tables great for people watching or there are several (more costly) venues within the walls but not part of the village itself. La Terrrazza – Insider benefits. This summertime nightspot is located within the Poble Espanyol complex. It is not actually part of the cultural village itself but entrance to this venue includes entrance to the village. This is an under the night sky venue operating from June to mid October under the stars with trendy dance music and a lively atmosphere. (www.laterrrazza.com)
Mirabe – Great city views. This tasteful, elegant bar is located where the funicular departs for Tibidabo. Floor to ceiling windows provide everyone with fantastic views of Barcelona. Warmer month allow drinks to be served from the terraced gardens. (C/Maunuel Arnus 2, Barcelona Tel: 93 434 00 35)
La Vinya del Senyor – Wine time. Located on the plaza across from the church of Santa Maria del Mar, this open-air people watching spot is one of the best spots for casual wine tasting with tapas as a bonus. (Plaça Santa Maria 5 Barcelona Tel: 93 310 33 79)
London Bar – A pub by any other name. For more than a century this establishment has open for business and notes with pride that Hemingway, Dali, and Picasso have spent time at the bar. Mirame Linda – Best mojito? Located in the trendy area of Born, this bar is known for not just the best mojito but also an array of creative/cool cocktails. Two levels serve a lively post midnight crowd. (Passeig de Born, 15 Barcelona Tel: 933 10 37 27)
El Bosc de les Fades – Fantasy atmosphere. Twinkling lights, artificial streams and arboreal enhancements create a fairy tale atmosphere in Old Town. This is a place to enjoy clever drinks and quirky coffee concoctions. (Passatge de la Banca 5 Barcelona Tel: 93 317 26 49)
Barcelona Rouge – A late night secret. Perfect for the opening of a spy thriller, this late-night spot may be accessed only by ringing the bell – not for tapas. Zahara - Sip just off the beach. Located in Barceloneta, this bar has an outside terrace ideal for people watching while dinning and sipping a cocktail. Catwalk Club - Port area glamour. Located in the Barceloneta area, the Catwalk is one of the city’s best known clubs offering a large dance floor framed by bars and seating and a second floor for chilling out. Sala Apolo Barcelona – Two clubs in one. The two adjacent venues - Apolo 1 and Apolo 2 complement one another. The One Club – Great sound and impressive light shows. This is the place for techno lovers who plan to dance the night away – no chill-out space provided. Its futuristic atmosphere, techno and electro, combined with top flight sound makes for an intense club experience. Row 14 Club - An indoor/outdoor clubbing experience. Row 14 Club is located only minutes from the airport and offers a variety of spaces, including a dance floor, two outdoor chill-out areas and a bar. This is the place for dedicated ravers who plan to dance the night away. The music is techno with international DJs each weekend. Here’s the deal.
