Just 6 minutes’ walk to the south is the iconic Galata To 2 we 1ffe r. Built in the 14th century, an apex to the city’s wall defences, years later it was used as a gaol for prisoners of war and then more recently an observatory. Just a minute’s walk to the east lies one of the city’s most interesting attractions at Galat Mevlevihanesi, located just south of Tünel Square.
