Royal Spacious Location
|
Your apartment is located on the Noordeinde Street. This is a classy street with nice, expensive shops and boutiques. The Noordeinde palace is also on this street. This is the official working place of Queen Beatrix and on some days the prime minister and other politicians will visit the queen to talk about important matters of state. When the Dutch red, white and blue flag and the Royal Banner are hanging In front of the palace this means that the queen is in the palace. The Hague has more to offer. Madurodam is a model miniature city on a 1:25 scale. You can see windmills, bridges, towers, stations, palaces, monumental buildings, farms, castles and much more from all over The Netherlands. You can see the Schiphol airport with moving planes and also the highest tower in the Netherlands, the Dom Tower in Utrecht. There is a souvenir shop and also a café with a terrace. The Gevangenpoort is a medieval prison which is located close to the Binnenhof and the Hofvijver. It is a museum and gives a good impression how the prisoners were tortured in those days. If somebody was suspected of a crime then he would go to prison to be tortured to get a confession. They almost always confessed because the torture was awful. Once they confessed then the judges would rule a punishment. This could be a death penalty, a fine, a corporal punishment or exile. They were never sentenced to prison.
