This is the place where the Dutch hydraulic engineers learn how to fight against the water. Much of Holland is below the seal level and the Dutch built dikes and dams like the Delta Works to protect Holland from the sea. Two Famous churches are also in this city: The Oude Kerk(old church) and the Nieuwe Kerk.(new church) The Oude Kerk was founded in 1246 and it has a it known for the leaning tower. The famous painter from Delft, Johannes Vermeer is buried here.
