Liberation Festival
The Liberation Festival celebrates the Day of Freedom. Festival goers will be able to attend the festival free of charge and it will offer something fun for everyone. The festival will feature music and activities around the themes of peace, freedom, antidiscrimination, civil rights, justice and democracy.
5 May is a national noliday in the Netherlands. Liberation Day (Dutch: Bevrijdingsdag) is celebrated each year, to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II.
The Liberation Festival The Hague will offer numerous free events during the day on 5 May in and around the Spuiplein. The festival offers something for everyone: theatre, cabaret, literature, debate, music and lots of other activities. Two outdoor stages on the Spuiplein will provide a variety of fabulous entertainment by local and international performers.
But the Liberation Festival The Hague is decidedly much more than only a pop music festival. There will be an extensive literary programme in the public library with lectures, speeches and an English-language debate.
