In The Hague you can find two seaside resorts: the fashionable Scheveningen and the quieter Kijkduin. Sunbathing, taking a breath of fresh air, shopping or dining... the beach attracts visitors all year long.
Scheveningen
In the hot summer months you can sunbathe on the beach or stroll down the boulevard. In the winter you can experience the raw elements of wind and sea, go shopping and then drink a cup of hot cocoa. The beach of Scheveningen represents a welcome respite from the outside world. The Scheveningen Harbour is always a whirlwind of activity with loudly squawking seagulls announcing the arrival of freshly-laden fishing boats. You can buy a scrumptious fish or dine out in one of the restaurants in the harbour.
Kijkduin
Relax and enjoy yourself in the quieter family-oriented seaside resort of Kijkduin. Take a romantic stroll along the beach and then have something to eat or drink in one of the inviting restaurants on the boulevard. For those who prefer a more active day out, take a good walk of bicycle ride through the dunes.

For your relaxation you are welcome to try one of the two whirlpools, herbal baths, Dead Sea 'floating' baths, a herbal relaxation room and a swimming pool with perfectly unspoiled view of the sea, the beach and Scheveningen Pier. In case of the hygiene, the use of the facilities is only possible without bathing wear. In some areas wearing a bath rope is obliged. You are able to rent one, just like towels (rent bath rope and towel set Eur 8,50). We advise you to book in advance if you want to pay a visit during weekends and (school) holidays.
