By air
Amsterdam’s international airport, Schiphol Airport, is about a 30-minute drive from Utrecht’s city centre. From the airport, travellers can choose to take a taxi (Schiphol airport to Utrecht city: 55,- euro), train or shuttle bus to Utrecht city. Trains depart from the NS Terminal at Schiphol. Passengers should follow the train icons to get to the departing rail terminal.
By car
If visitors prefer to drive, the A2, A12, A27 and A28 all lead to Utrecht. It is very easy to get onto these highways from almost all European cities.
Parking in Utrecht is quite expensive and it is often difficult to find a parking space. Farther out from the city, there are long-term and short-term parking facilities, offering a cheaper parking alternative.
By rail
It is also very convenient to get to Utrecht by using the international train network. Trains from several major European cities arrive at Utrecht on a daily basis, as it is the centre of the Dutch railway network.

By Bus and Tram
Both buses and trams operate within the city of Utrecht. To use them you will need to purchase a "strippenkaart". This is a zone-card with “strips” that should be stamped every time you get on a bus or tram. For travel within the centre of Utrecht (one zone) you will need to stamp 2 strips.
