A large indoor Shopping mall called Hoog Catharijne is positioned right next to the train station. Along the Old Canal (Oude Gracht), you will find many specialty shops and boutiques. Check out the Oudkerkhof, with its upscale stores, the Zadelstraat close to the Dom Tower, the Schoutenstraat for antiques and the Lijnmarkt and Lange Elizabethstraat for fashion.

On Saturday Utrecht has two flower markets, one on Janskerkhof and one on Oudegracht. The General Market is held twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
