Location

Conveniently situated within the calm and peaceful east of Amsterdam, within an area which offers a relaxing alternative to the hustle and bustle of the energetic city centre, this apartment is positioned just a short walk away from the stunning Oosterpark. Providing the perfect setting for a peaceful picnic, the Oosterpark was designed by Dutch landscape architect Leonard Anthony Springer and opened to the public in 1891. Within the park are the eye-catching structures - the National Slavery Monument and a memorial to the film maker Theo van Gogh.Alongside the Oosterpark is the fascinating Tropenmuseum, which is one of Europe’s leading ethnographic museums and is an attraction certainly not to be missed. Housed within a striking, historical building, the Tropenmuseum boasts a unique exhibition of art, film and music from non-western cultures. Also close by, are Amsterdam’s remarkable Botanical Gardens (Hortus Botanicus) which are definitely worthy of a visit. Originally created in 1638 and used to supply herbal remedies to local pharmacists, the gardens are amongst the oldest in the world and showcase a superb collection of over 6000 species of plants.
