The East Quarter Apartment 1 is located in the east of the city centre close to the beautiful 19th century Oosterpark in the Dapperbuurt district. The area is rich in architecture and also boasts a fabulous market, the Dappermarkt. With over 200 stalls selling anything from local and international food ingredients to handicrafts, textiles and clothing you are sure to find something of interest here.

The nearby Tropenmuseum provides a fascinating insight into the history of Dutch colonialism. Meanwhile the Linnaeusstraat is certainly worth visiting if you are feeling hungry since it is packed with delicious Surinamese and Indonesian takeaways. Within walking distance from the apartment you will also find Spanish restaurant Pata Negra and De Biertuin for lunch or dinner and a great choice of beers.

Getting to and from Central Station from the apartment is particularly easy since regular trams travel along the nearby Linnaeusstraat. It is perfectly possible and rather pleasant to walk into the centre calling in at the Waterlooplein Flea Market on the way. Alternatively you might prefer to hire bicycles for the duration of your stay.
