Location

East Quarter Apartment 2 is located in the Dapperbuurt district, which is to the east of the city centre alongside the  beautiful Plantage neighbourhood. The Oosterpark is just on the corner and a walk to the centre and the fabulous Waterlooplein Flea Market takes around 10-12 minutes. Alternatively you can hop on a tram or hire a bicycle. Getting to and from Central Station is particularly easy since regular trams travel along the nearby Linnaeusstraat.

You will find a wealth of delicious restaurants in the area as well as the excellent Tropen Museum
about the history of Dutch colonialism, situated in an impressive building overlooking Amsterdam’s Oosterpark. From here it is only a short walk to the zoo Artis and the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam, one of the oldest botanic gardens in Europe. Opposite the entrance of Artis is the Verzetsmuseum Amsterdam (Dutch Resistance Museum) where you can learn more about the Dutch experience during the occupation by Nazi Germany in WWII. The museum also offers a special exhibition for children.
