Nowadays the Colosseum has become one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions and welcomes thousands of visitors every single day from across the globe.Also close by is the striking Basilica San Giovanni or Basilica of St John Lateran as it is also known. This simply stunning building is referred to as one of the city’s most important holy buildings as it is where the Pope officiates as the Bishop of Rome.
